Ways to connect
There is always another way in
When one route is blocked, ArgoVPN has another. Three ways to connect, proxy support, and advanced settings help you stay connected when filtering gets tougher.
-
Your domain
Falcon
Connect through your own domain via Cloudflare. Only you and the people you share it with know the address, so blocked public addresses no longer matter.
Falcon setup guide (Persian) -
Private
Bridges
If public addresses get blocked, get a private bridge address from the Argo bridge database or the Telegram bot. Bridges are handed out randomly, which makes them much harder to block.
Get a bridge from BridgeDB -
Default
Public network
ArgoVPN fetches its public server addresses automatically. Just tap connect, with no setup at all.
-
Proxy support
If ArgoVPN's servers can't be reached directly, route the connection through an HTTP, SOCKS, or Shadowsocks proxy.
-
Advanced
Kyla
For power users: tune the ClientHello profile, user agent, cipher suites, MTU, and Anycast routing yourself.
Security and privacy
Strong encryption, no compromises
Security is ArgoVPN's most important feature. Your connection is encrypted from your phone to our servers with modern algorithms and a unique key for every session.
-
AES-GCM-128 or ChaCha20-Poly1305
The fastest secure cipher for your phone's processor is selected automatically.
-
Argo Authenticator protocol
Every connection gets a fresh random key, delivered securely using RSA-2048 combined with AES-GCM-256. The public key is built into the app, so man-in-the-middle attacks are not possible.
-
Forward secrecy
TLS with forward secrecy protects the encryption keys of every session.
-
Secure DNS, no leaks
By default, the app sends its own DNS queries over DoH, so they don't leak or get tampered with, even before the VPN connects. DNS leak protection and a kill switch are built in.
-
Looks like ordinary HTTPS
According to the 7ASecurity audit, traffic through ArgoVPN is indistinguishable from normal HTTPS traffic.
-
No logs, no data collection
Nothing about your device, location, bandwidth, or connection time is collected.
Features
Premium VPN features, free
Tools you usually only get with paid services come free with ArgoVPN.
-
Built-in firewall
Block any website so it never opens while you're connected. A community list of phishing and malware sites adds extra protection.
-
Cloudflare Family and Malware
Turn on Cloudflare's family and malware filters alongside ArgoVPN's firewall.
-
Domain exclusions
Send domestic sites and discounted local downloads outside the tunnel to save on your data bill.
-
Split tunneling
Choose which apps use the VPN tunnel, for more speed and less battery drain.
-
Kill switch
If the VPN drops, traffic stops too, so your IP stays protected.
-
Your choice of DNS
Pick the DNS server for the tunnel and the app's internal DNS, including Cloudflare and ArgoVPN's recommended options.
-
Easy on your battery
Newer Android technologies such as WorkManager keep battery use as low as possible.
-
No limits, no ads
No data cap, no speed or time limits, and no ads.
Independent audits
Don't take our word for it. Read the report.
Independent, respected security firms have reviewed ArgoVPN three times, from the app's code to its servers.
Overall, ArgoVPN withstood a wide range of attacks.
-
First security and privacy audit
A full review of ArgoVPN's first version by the independent Cure53 team, focused on security and privacy.
-
Follow-up review
Cure53 reviewed the app's security and privacy again.
-
White-box penetration test
A complete review of the app, servers, and infrastructure found only 2 vulnerabilities and 11 low-risk hardening recommendations, most of them fixed before the final report.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does ArgoVPN have data or speed limits?
No. There are currently no data, speed, or time limits for ArgoVPN users.
Is data between my device and ArgoVPN's servers encrypted?
Yes. Your data is encrypted all the way to our servers using AES-GCM-128 or ChaCha20-Poly1305. ArgoVPN also uses the TLS protocol to provide perfect forward secrecy.
Does ArgoVPN make my online activity anonymous?
No. ArgoVPN is only a tool for getting past internet censorship, focused on speed and security. It should not be used as a tool for hiding your identity online or for anonymous browsing, and all security responsibility for improper use of ArgoVPN lies with the user.
No VPN can fully anonymize your identity online. If you want all of your online activity to be anonymous and fully secure, use Tor Browser.
Will ArgoVPN drain my phone's battery?
Any VPN or circumvention app uses more battery, because it keeps the processor and the network busy. We paid special attention to this when designing ArgoVPN and used newer Android technologies such as WorkManager to keep battery use as low as possible. Excluding apps from the VPN tunnel is another way to reduce battery use even further.
The app doesn't show my IP, or I get error 112 when connecting. What should I do?
DNS is used to find the IP addresses of websites. By default, ArgoVPN uses DoH (DNS over HTTPS) providers for this, so that the app's DNS requests don't leak even before the VPN connection is established, and so that DNS answers can't be altered by governments.
Sometimes governments interfere with DoH providers to make filtering harder to get around. When that happens, because no answer comes back from the DoH provider, your IP may not appear on the app's home screen, or you may see error 112 or even 103 when connecting.
In that case, open the app's settings, change the "App Internal DNS Server" option, and try again.
If none of the DoH providers work (because all of them have been filtered), choose the last option, "SYSTEM DEFAULT", to use your system's default DNS for connecting.
Using the system's default DNS does not affect your security. Your choice here is also separate from the DNS used inside the VPN tunnel and does not affect it.
